Singing Shakespeare
Musicologist, researcher and broadcast presenter Dr. Katy Hamilton will give an illuminating talk on Singing Shakespeare, revealing the subtle - and not so subtle - influences of different composers and performers in the Art Song tradition based on Shakespearean texts.
This talk to be introduced by Paul Higgins, Trustee of SIM.

Motets By William Byrd & Thomas Tallis
The Stratford Chamber Choir will perform a selection of Motets by Byrd, Tallis, Gibbons and other contemporary composers, privileged composers of Queen Elizabeth I. It will also feature a brief organ interlude of their music.

Roger Quilter: The Shakespeare Songs
Vicar Choral of Wells Cathedral and Baritone, William Drakett will give the first performance of a new setting of sixteen songs by Roger Quilter, arranged by John Macfarlane. The string quintet accompaniment will be played by musicians from the Orchestra of the Swan.
